About Alisa

My Story​

I’m an author and former soil scientist based on the NSW coast. My first book was non-fiction, centred on soil and science. These days, I’m writing fiction — stories for children that explore the natural world in unexpected ways, and occasional projects for adult readers.
I like creating work that’s layered: part mystery, part quiet adventure. I often draw on real landscapes, ecological ideas, and the curiosity of kids who still notice things adults overlook.
When I’m not writing, I’m making puzzles, reading old nature guides, or exploring tide pools with my daughter.
